The Central Birmingham Youth Development League ( CBYDL )

The Central Birmingham Youth Development League (CBYDL) has come about to cater for youth’s living in the Central Birmingham area providing a large young community in the region the opportunity to be involved in competitive Football. Following a successful pilot in 2018, the 2019/2020 league had 20 teams participating from our local community.

The aim is to encourage the development of football, ensure that youth are engaged throughout the year, inspire them to participate in competitive sport, help and promote enthusiasm for the game and more importantly, to have FUN. Whilst there is a competitive element involved in the game, our emphasis is based on ‘Team Spirit’ and ‘Sportsmanship’ among all the participating teams.

All league games will be played from one location on Saturdays from Saltley Wellbeing Centre on the Astroturf pitch – this will be convenient as it will cut down travel costs and accommodate youths that are not able to join leagues such as Sandwell league, CWYL (Central Warwickshire Youth League) or MPJL (Midland Junior Premier League) due to demands of cost and travel.

The league would be run the same way as any youth league where we would have a league facilitator on the day that can provide help and assistance for all the teams.

All participants will have a chance to develop their skill and talent in a fun and enjoyable way within a safe and non-pressurised environment.
